“ Don’t walk here, run and run fast it’s that delicious. The food is true home cooking like your mom and grandma made. I ordered the smothered chicken with white rice, green beans and macaroni and cheese. The green beans were cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. The Mac and Cheese was better than mine- so creamy and cheesy. The smothered chicken was tender and the gravy was phenomenal. Even the rice was tender and good. This is a soul food lover’s delight! The menu is full of great main dishes with vegetables to choose from for days. The owners were very happy to share their beautiful stories of how the business opened and their love of the food and the people they serve. It’s all done with love and you can definitely tell it is true. I can’t wait to make another road trip up this way so I can eat here again. Apparently you need to go before church gets out on Sunday or be prepared to stand in line and wait. Regarding desserts they were already sold out by 3 and from the list of the ones they make -homemade cakes, banana pudding and pound cake, they must be awesome. We tried out the family-owned souther food joint. It was fantastic! You can tell they put their heart in their cooking. You can't find this kind of cooking in a chain restaurant. “ My Nana and I went for the first time today after driving by this place many times. My advice is to STOP, go in and get a plate! It was absolutely delicious. I had the oxtail for the first time in my life, and I can’t wait until my next plate. ”
“ I don't have a reason that it took so long for me to try this place, but I'm sad that I didn't do it sooner! Holy wow, this food is amazing. I have not had anything from this establishment that I've wished was different in any way. Pictured is the oxtails and rice with macaroni, cabbage, and a huge piece of cornbread that comes with your meal (or should I say 2 meals, because your stomach isn't big enough to eat this in one go!). There is no inside dining, but there are a few tables out front for you to sit and eat if you don't want to take it home. The staff is always extremely friendly when I order, and they make sure you're happy before you walk out the door! You will not be disappointed! ”
“ We found this little place on Google when we came into town. When we pulled in we almost left because it's very small and you have to park in back because of the location. It almost looked closed. Reviews and the "ad" looked great so we tried it. BOY were we glad we did! My bf had bbq rib tips, butter beans and collard greens and he couldn't say mmmm enough, lol! He said that it was all fantastic! I had perfectly seasoned fried chicken wings, collards and some of the best mac n cheese I've ever eaten! Both plates also had a big piece of cornbread. I highly recommend this little place to anyone that's hungry! I wish we were here for longer I would try everything on the menu!! The people there (I'm assuming owners) were very friendly and helpful. They made sure that we had everything that we needed. We ate outside on a covered porch so I'm not sure if inside dining is offered as it is very small. ”
“ Passed by on my way to make a delivery! As I walked in and was greeted (side eyeing the menu) I just had this feeling this was about to be good! The food here was amazing! and the portions were huge!!...you can easily feed 2 ppl out of 1 tray..but trust you dont want to share! ....the food reminded me of my child hood! I stop by alot of places being an OTR driver and this place did NOT dissapoint! Everything was perfect! ”
